As a comparison, Avril's Let Me Go, with a video out for two weeks, a GMA performance plus the album release, it's barely hanging around top 80, with literally zero pop airplay and moderate HAC airplay. If you say flopping, that would probably be a better song to describe.

Not shading her because Avril is one of my own faves. But you people need to calm down and wait.

Except LMG was only sent to HAC thats not well known for selling a song. Many songs are out Top 200 for HAC songs until it really grows

It obviously was sent to radio, but how come they haven't put up the single version w/ the artwork? It's the album version that is charting..

Because the album's out - single versions (usually) aren't uploaded once the album has been released, unless they've been remixed. There's no point, by encouraging people to click on the album to buy the song they might just buy the album and it also lets them use the "Complete My Album" button easier.

Unless you don't consider Firework a real single?

NO. Dark GOD is already the 3rd single no one can deny its power. It's STILL outselling Unconditionally on itunes, even with 63M audience on radio.

I read in an article that Katy recorded 3 versions of Dark Horse and the one she released was her favorite. With that said I assume there is a solo version that will be released for HAC/AC radio and then probably also put on iTunes. If it slays like te E.T. solo version then it could greatly help sales.

Also back to Unconditionally, all the songs that are top 20 on US airplay are currently behind Unconditionally on iTunes. Just because the song isn't top 10 yet doesn't mean it's not gonna do well. It clearly is going I smash once promo kicks in

Dark Horse would have been a better choice for winter with a Tim Burton inspired music video (Edward Scissorhands meets The Nightmare Before Christmas)

Actually, that's not true.

HAC is only behind Top40 when it comes to "selling" songs. Songs with huge airplay and poor sales are usually the ones with big Rhythmic/Urban support, the only exception could be Maroon 5's last 3 singles tbh.

Also, don't worry about this yet. The fact that the video doesn't come out in another 3 weeks means they're holding this. It'll peak right on Xmas season and will keep slaying until the Grammy Awards.

Wouldn't be surprising if this pulls a Firework and we don't get a new single until march.
