They've pretty much already ruined Dark Horse's possible single release, haven't they? It keeps hanging around #20 on iTunes, at this rate it's going platinum without even being a single. Capitol's only option to save this song's single campaign is to make it album-only ASAP (although it's probably already too late for that anyway) which will also likely increase album sales. I don't think a remix will help in Dark Horse's case as it already features a rapper and solo version won't do much either probably.

E.T. was a promo single, too, which was selling a lot before it eventually became single #4. Hence, the Kanye remix.

But E.T. never sold as much as Dark Horse nor did it have as much insane longevity as a promo single. Plus going from a solo version to a rapper remix has way more benefits compared to when you're starting with a collaboration already, adding an extra rapper won't make much difference nor will a solo version unless they revamp the song a lot.

I think making a solo version with an added verse or something would be a brilliant idea, actually. I'm sure many would be here for that.
They're so dumb to don't make it album ony, seriously
It's literally the perfect solution. Saving the single sales for when it's actually a single + using the current demand for the song to increase album sales. Might already be too late to have much effect though, since they're gonna start promoting Uncle DeShawn Ali soon.

Yeah, I'd prefer a solo version tbh, Juicy's throwaway kesha reject verses ruin the song for me Plus if it does go #1 then we can say Katy's remix with herself is what pushed the song to #1
