nnnnnnnnn Double Rainbow is such a beautiful song and a fave by me personally because it's so honest. It's like Katy was singing it on the verge of crying, it's just It's what a lover would say to his/her partner and that's such an intimate moment...

Actually, come to think of it, sans the rhyming, that's what PRISM is all about. It does have many cliches throughout, but that's where you see that the 'human' overtook the artist in making these songs (We already know Katy can make clever songs lyrically like TOY,WUINV,ISB,NTLM,etc). I don't think you always go poetic when you put your heart out, It doesn't have to be like that all the time...

the only flaw i wanna address about this album is that i don't think Katy brought her A game lyrically for this album. the constant use of cliches for every song. not that you have to be deep or poetic when it comes to pop music, usually in pop music you have to keep it simple so listeners can relate to you. i'm just not a fan of the messy cliches.

I agree. I mean Roar is just cliche after cliche. Walking On Air's chorus. This Moment is so cliche. I still love all of those and the whole album, and it was a smart move because the GP easily relates to cliches, but I'm glad we did get the bonus tracks that are all really stand outs lyrically.
