to summarize basically all gamefreak did in regards to hacking was to change the pokemon file from .pkm to .pkx. Someone extracted the files from the game by sending them to a phony dns. now the people at project pokemon are trying to find a way to edit the pkx files.
2 things: 1 is that since we don't have action replay to get your pokes you need to hook up your 3ds to a fake dns and wondertrade it to yourself
2. You can still get online without the current patch(apparently) so even if gamefreak patches the exploit you can just chose not to update and be fine.

Couldn't GameFreak lowkey patch the problem without mentioning it in any future update ? With rumors of them patching in more Pokemon or features and what not.
