Seriously, I REALLY oughta watch more of their videos. Their deeper voice with their accents was surprising.

The performance wasn't too bad, from the comments on here I was expecting worse.
It's ridiculous that they performed BSE considering SOML going on sale the day afterwards but luckily Harry shamelessly plugged SOML.

The mixing on the microphones was pretty horrible (they basically had to yell the entire performance) but they did quite well considering. Especially Liam, his little ad-libs in his parts were really nice.

Yea the performance was a lot better since zayn cared more and their voices sounded better than in August.

But when did harry plugged soml? They did play soml to introduce the boys.

It was definitely better than the mess back in August.

True, and also after the mini interview the host made sure to announce SOML/MM dates. But when Harry was asked "what is your best song [ever]?", he basically said "a best song is essentially something you have memories attached to and hopefully some people find our new single to be one of those songs" or something like that.

I guess with the busy schedule they didn't have time to rehearse for SOML yet. It's too bad since they're doing a few interviews this week in Sydney. They could have added performances

Although with three shows to go for this tour or something I don't think it will.

3 more shows in australia and 2 in japan finishing nov 3. Maybe they want to debut SOML for an award show like EMA

They'll probably include it in the two Japan shows.

But yeah maybe they'll save it for an award show instead. Although you'd think they'd want to get in a bit of practice before debuting it on a high profile show. Especially since, as you said, they probably don't have a ton of time to rehearse due to their hectic schedules.

If they're repeating BSE promo schedule...then we can expect 2-3 messy performances before one good one

Although how can you really mess up vocally on ballad songs, esp one without distinct high notes?
