I used to think that until I realized the first verse is repeated for the second verse. Kind of a lazily structured song, and when you put it in the context of Rih's yearly rushed releases, it makes sense.

I agree that people are overreacting to it's iTunes performance. Just think the song is kinda average and not the right single to 'save' the era I'm sure it'll be a big hit in the US at least.

Beyonce got breakthrough success making 'ghetto' songs tho with Destiny's Child. Bills Bills Bills, Bug a Boo, Bootylicious all come to mind. She has her prim and proper moments but Bey is prob. more hood than Rihanna. Real bad girls move in silence.
