It held off Bieber though who was almost guaranteed to be #1 even if it was for a couple hours. They should just keep Venus on the DL till 11.11

Some of you are forgetting DWUW has a commercial. I bet Venus was never going to be the 2nd single unless people hated DWUW. She could have easily released Aura, Not Venus, and Dope in that order. DWUW is that big single people have been waiting for since Bad Romance, tbh.

Ok, so i judged DWYW by the snippet/beats commercial and i hated it so i when it premiered i didn't listen to it.
I didn't like Applause's snippet but i listened to the song because it's GaGa's first single for her new album. Why would i want to miss out on that? So ever since i heard Applause i've been OBSESSED with it. Probably my favorite GaGa song behind Judas & Alejandro. But i finally listened to DWYW and my god i was slayed!
Who knew R.Kelly and her would fit so well on a song.
G.U.Y is most likely gonna be my obsession on ARTPOP.

I'm not worried about DWUW doing well--it has the most potential since TEOG. I'm just worried about how this era has already taken a turn towards BTW messiness

It's Interscope + Gaga's job to pick the best singles to represent + sell the album. We already thought Jimmy was a bit weird for thinking Applause was the best song, and now this. Anyone with half a brain could've told you DWUW has great potential (especially since it's her first single that could truly capture multiple radio formats), so why wasn't this just the 2nd single to start with? Why would they even go with Venus if they weren't totally sure on it?

My personal theory... Gaga wanted Venus since it thematically made sense for ARTPOP. Interscope said sure, but let's put DWUW in a commercial + release it first, and see what happens...

I just hope every single for the rest of Gaga's career isn't some big debate with Interscope, because it's getting old And what happens if Venus hits #1 worldwide next week too?

It's still coming on monday, though, as she said earlier, and it'll probably be a later single since I guess she already filmed the video. At least I think so regarding her tweets. We'll see what happens.

Am I the only one who think the song would be better without R. Kelly? I was here for it when it was announced but I feel like his verse doesn't fit on the song. I still think the song is terrific though.
