any performance can be seen from anywhere in the world now, so it doesn't really matter WHERE someone performs. The trickle of media gossip will be worldwide no matter what. So in that sense, a performance in the UK is pretty much the same as a performance in the US. Everyone will just go to youtube regardless. I'm sure they are concentrating all their efforts into timing things out RIGHT for the US. So it's a little early to be kick-starting things when the holidays are still a ways away. At least that's how I perceive it.

For Firework she performed it right around this time exactly 3 years ago in X Factor UK so it's not that early. But it seems Katy's team wants UC to be a slower hit + more longevity, so they're just milking Roar's last legs instead of giving UC a boost. Important promo for PRISM regardless.
