Sorry did I say that?! No I didn't. I meant what I said. There is 5/6 singles that Katy needed to put on the album to get label support, and the rest are filler that she just put on to get into the new era. It's a mess. I love great album tracks, but none of them exist. Any of the good songs will be singles. Katy is my second most listened to artist on iTunes and Last.FM, but this album is a boring ass predictable mess. Her worst album to date, by a long shot.

Don't come here to say these things like it's something official. A song isn't a filler only because YOU DON'T LIKE IT. You just can't get into it, simple as that. I suggest you to try understand every track, every lyric and production. I'm sure Katy didn't made them just to "fill" the album!

So she put the singles because she had to, and the fillers because she had to? You're saying she didn't want to make new music at all? I don't care how much you listen to her, if you can't respect this body of work, you're not a Katy Perry fan. This is very much the album she wanted to make at this point in her life.

And I didn't get into Katy Perry since 2010. I liked her ever since 'Ur So Gay'. I stanned hard for her, but this album is dire. Soul? Get your spiritual bull$hit outta here. Judging a song has NOTHING to do with spirituality. It's simple, this album is full of songs that suck. That's how I can say they are fillers.

Ah, so you're using the Music Forum logic of "I don't like this song therefore it's filler", then I understand your logic. I thought for a minute you might've had a serious argument!
On an album of someone who writes their own music the songs written to be singles are more filler-like than the songs about the writers personal life, if we're being real here. The personal songs have meaning and reason behind being written, the singles are purely there because you can't release an album without a single. [And vice-versa for someone who doesn't write/isn't musically in control - their albums exist for the singles, the "personal" songs are only there to make up the numbers].

Well this sort of puts an interesting twist as to why you're a bit upset  ,
but i think you're being too quick with your judgement,it hasn't even being a month yet since you listened to it but already you've given up.Give the songs time to grow on you ,am not saying you'll end up liking all of them but i do think with more time you will come to appreciate every song for something that it brings forth to the whole album..............
I don't really think Katy intended her album to be just hits you liked at first play else you threw the whole thing away,be a bit more patient with it

How is there any better logic to a song being a filler, than them to suck, sound rushed, have boring melodies, and no stand-out production value? It's all a mess, and she should have stayed in the studio for another few months to actually make worthwhile tracks, or make the tracks she already had a bit more interesting. I don't get what's so hard for everyone to understand? This album is boring, and dull. It has a lot of fillers in it. That is my opinion. Get over it. I am using my own logic - as this is my taste, but you my friend are the one with no argument, as instead of making valid points, you're just insulting my posts. Sign of someone who doesn't have much intelligence I am afraid.

But Sara Bareilles is a non-factor to me. Her music is usually quite bad. Katy is much more interesting, and has been, hence why she's one of my most listened to artists of all time.
