Correct. For two reasons:

• That's ultimately what works best for her;
• She doesn't have that much life experience that we don't already know about. Therefore, there isn't much substance that could make for interesting songs.

I'm not even going to pretend like I believe there is still something inside of Britney that would allow her to bring out a song of Everytime's calibre. Her only decent post-Blackout ballad is Out From Under; it's classic Pop, it has a really nice old Britney vibe to it, the lyrics sound personal enough to be correlated to Britney's life, and universal enough to be relatable, its soaring chorus prevents one from falling asleep during it, and doesn't feature any gauche lyrics along the lines of "I smell your breath / It makes me cry".

Well, you can't get more personal than My Baby. It's literally about her own baby... and she wrote it herself.
(And uh, songs like Piece of Me, Kill The Lights can be considered personal to a degree.)

Maybe not written herself but "Piece of Me", "Why Should I Be Sad" are good examples. I know what you mean though. This'll hopefully be in vein of In the Zone where she's really talkin about stuff.
