I know but it still strikes me as odd why Applause seems a little disconnected to the album and the other singles. Not musically but in the way it was treated as the first single. I puzzled for a long time about that but I don't want to complain. Applause became a smash and established her on radio again.

I'm not sure what's so bad about the line in context of the song.

But what is the context of the song? We've literally only heard 12 seconds of it, and from interviews we've heard that it's supposedly about being empowered by submitting to a man. I don't know how "please retweet" fits into that, and that's why I find it- if it is actually "retweet" and not "retreat/repeat/whatever" -out of place.

Listen to the line right after it. Shes saying to retweet "let me be the girl under you that makes you cry"
The "retweet" is obviously a joke, that's a tweet after all
