I couldn't stand Eminem anymore. Looking at Em's past works, he has gems but I can count them in my hands. His album tracks aren't strong either.
Kanye has released MBDTF and Yeezus. MBDTF's lyrical content was something above. It was a fantastic album lyrically and production wise. While Yeezus isn't as strong as MBDTF, it is still better than any of Eminem's new albums.
No he's not a lyrical rapper. Were you even a fan before? Most of his songs were mockeries. I like it, I stan for those but he's not a lyrical rapper. He has some songs but when you listen to his discography those "songs" are outnumbered by random ass songs.
Kanye on the other hand is a lyrical rapper from The College Dropout to Yeezus, he is.
Yeezus had been an underwhelming album in terms of lyrical content but it still gave us three powerful songs: Blood on the Leaves, New Slaves and Black Skinhead. Ye's delivery also improved.
This is why Kanye West is one of the most celebrated rap artists of our generation. Eminem is alright but after two disappointing albums with 2 current singles that are horrible might as well not check him out anymore.
I clicked on the thread because of the song title 'Rap God' and I KNOW this will be a diss song and I'm right but I love it, it's much better than Relapse, Recovery (w/o Not Afraid and Space Bound) and the two new songs combined. So I thought to myself, there is still hope with Em.
I don't wanna fight y'all but y'all should stop with this ********.

.....did you call Eminem "not a lyrical rapper"?
oh boy
let me educate you:
being lyrical doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the topic that the person is rapping about. eminem is known for his storytelling, multi syllable rhyme patterns and incorporating elements like alliterations, punchlines, etc in his lyrics.
kanye isn't a rhymer, he's not lyrical at all, any hip hop head would know this. kanye rhymes the same words ALOT, he's not lyrical, and his lyrics don't have complexity.
90% of Em's discography is lyrical. sure he has songs like Big Weenie, Ass Like That, etc, but almost every other verse he's put out is lyrical.

check the link in my signature also.
Relapse wasn't a disappointment LYRICALLY, people got annoyed because of his accent, which most are starting to appreciate now. his pronunciation and flow on Relapse was great, along with his lyricism.
Recovery was very lyrical too, people hate it because of the collaborations, cheesy hooks, poppy production, etc, but NO ONE bashes it's lyrics because it's fine lyrically. some of the best punchlines in his career were delivered on that album.
your definition of "lyrical" must be "putting out quality material" if you think Kanye is more lyrical than em. he's not lyrical at all, period.
the fact that you think Not Afraid & Space Bound are the best songs on recovery shows your poor taste. or maybe you just didn't listen to the album. kanye's most lyrical album is still not more lyrical than em's least lyrical album. and Em's most lyrical albums are far superior to kanye's most lyrical albums.
BUT
this is ATRL, i wouldn't expect people to know anything about lyricism here, like i said, the only two rappers in the history that are technically more lyrical than eminem are rakim & nas.
