I'm not saying it should have been a hit. I don't really follow Justin and his music. What I'm saying is that, you argued that it's not about the promotion and there hasn't been "any" promotion at all, and he is promoting it through his twitter account.
Let's not act like Twitter doesn't have an impact on promotion and sales because IT DOES. Anyway.
|
And explain to me what happens when his Twitter fans have already bought the single.
Exactly what is happening right now.

Let's not forget what happen to Applause before promotion kicked in, EVEN WHEN IT DID have some.
|
Applause has only dropped out of the top ten once and that itself took more than a month to happen.
Edit: And what even happened to it before promotion kicked in? It stayed steady in the top 10 before promotion and after it.

are you serious right now? HE IS PROMOTING THE SINGLE. That is my point. Not everyone buys a single the moment it comes out. Promotion ensures longevity and exposure for people who didn't know a song/product was out.

So if he goes on Twitter everyday the song will stay at #1?
Because that's what happened with Applause? Work Bitch?
This debate is done.

He didn't put any promotion into this, because he isn't trying to make it smash. This is for the FANS, not the PROMOTION, APPLAUSE, OR ATTENTION. Thx you very much.

I'm going to say this one last time, and I'm not going to repeat myself again, because ATRL clearly knows the facts, but refuses to acknowledge them.
Bieber isn't going anywhere. The song was 1 out of 10 non-singles that are being released over the next 10 weeks.
Your fave's team emptied their entire bank account to get KIA commericial promotion, a performance at the VMAs the biggest music awards show of the year, a music video, and tons of other legitimate promotion, but she STILL could not get her song to #1 on iTunes. Let's be realistic. If this was 2011, GaGa would've debuted at #1 with Applause. You need to worry about your own fave fading, when these days she's no longer even considered competition against 1D and Taylor Swift's digital sales.
Heartbreaker a NON-single was never intended to smash, but it still peaked higher on iTunes than ALL of your faves highly-anticipated lead singles with only promotion via Twitter, a FREE service.

So if Twitter is suffice promo, why couldn't she get Applause to hit #1 on iTunes?
The fact that GaGa is no longer a heavy-hitter to the point that only fanbase they can start stan wars with are Beliebers.

Because he is close to being over. Dddd who cares if it hit number one on iTunes. It lasted in the top 10 for like 2 days.

OMG you are not trying to have a discussion right now. You are putting words in my mouth.
If you want to keep making excuses for why it fell out of the top 10 then that's on you. Applause is still in the top 10 of iTunes 2 months later so....I don't know what you're getting at with that argument.
For the last time, then I'm taking my ass to sleep, by LEAVING his avatar as the single cover he is prolonging the single exposure and increasing his chances of more of his twitter followers seeing the cover, realizing he has a new song out, and buying it.
I'm not saying ANYTHING about it being #1, I'm telling you that he is promoting it through twitter.....that's it.

It's rather obvious, the GP doesn't care about Bieber promo or not.

I NEVER said anything about anything being #1...why are y'all so pressed that it fell out of the top 10? It's number 12 right now, it's still doing good I don't see the issue here.
Applause is still in the top 10 of iTunes 2 months later and only fell out of the top 10 once for like an hour after a month and a half, not a couple of days.
I'm not starting a stan war. I'm having a discussion, something that some people in this thread seem to be incapable of having.

I'm still waiting on an answer as to why GaGa couldn't hit #1 on iTunes with 10x the amount of nationwide promo and media exposure she had.

That's COMPLETELY off-topic. But if you really want to know, a lead single leaking a week ahead of schedule and competing with the release of another lead single from a huge pop star has something to do with it.

1. She had bigger competition.
2. It was rush released.
3. Who cares, it's still Top 10 and above Justin's song that is only days old.
4. #1 on iTunes isn't that important seeing as you can hit it and then fall off in 2 days.

Girl, can you read?
Do you know the difference between a lead single and a promo song?
Goodnight.

There's no point I'm trying to prove here except that the single had promotion, a fact that someone else was denying earlier in this thread.
The Bieber fans in this thread are clearly upset and in defense mode, dragging other people into this who have nothing to do with the discussion.
