ARTPOP seems to be her most musically diverse album yet.
and I feel the cover captures the music very well. I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on this album. Its going to look gorgeous next to her others.
The more I look at it in super HQ, the more I'm starting to like the cover. However, I still think I'll use the very first promo photo we got, because it looks so much better, cleaner, and put together than the actual album cover, which looks like they just tried to be artistic and had many ideas that would've worked together on their OWN, but together, look just a mess.
The collage background would've worked if it had incorporated the different paintings/images to make up the words "ARTPOP" and "LADY GAGA".
The statue would've worked alone, with nothing else on it.
The blue ball, perhaps with the statue, would've worked.
The collage of the different paintings alone would've worked.
The folded-over letters, however, do not work. They're annoying, and start to bring out a little bit of OCD in me. The cover looks a mess together, and I know I just said I'm starting to like it more, but it's still not great.

Honestly, my ideal version for the cover would be Gaga as Aphrodite from the famous painting, with everything in the painting remade into real life things. No text on it at all. If Jeff Koons really had to design it, he could have Gaga standing on the blue ball instead of a shell, but I'd prefer it to just be a remake of the Aphrodite painting. It may be unoriginal, but I think it would be simply gorgeous and would be the best thing she could've done.
The whole idea of "simple" destroys the purpose of ARTPOP...which should be an explosion, not a slumber
Nope. Artistic doesn't have to be an explosion of insanity and chaos that looks a mess. The original promo pic is near perfection, and it's artistic yet extremely simple, and would work amazingly as the album cover.
