Prism's cover is simple, clear and intelligible, that's what pop art should be, effective for the masses, while ARTPOP's is an obvious complexity. I prefer the main characteristics of the former.

I like the ARTPOP cover more (even if the background is a little cluttered). It just looks more appealing to me. Katy's, while nice, it looks too much like an instagram picture. Also the font and border is a mess.

Prism is "pretty", but extremely forgettable. ARTPOP is entrancing and a work of art. Pretty easy choice.

Pop art takes something were all familiar with and shoves it back in our faces in different context, thats what the ARTPOP cover does. Prism is a beauty shot with a floral border. Its not pop art.

ARTPOP pushed the boundaries. Its not your typical 'Pop Girl' album cover. A statue of yourself giving birth to a glazing ball as an album cover? And not to mention Jeff Koons made the statue

If "pretty" is all you want out of an album cover then yeah Prism.
