Because they're the starters and should be privileged when it comes to things like that.
To me starters are like the "main characters" of a manga, and main characters are the ones that get all the powerups before anyone else, that's how typical shonens (and Pokemon XY will get a shonen version) work.
In fact the most logical thing to do, would have been to keep Mega forms from previous games for future games, and not the opposite.
And I don't know if y'all noticed, but I've only talked about the starters so far, that would only have been 3 extra mega forms, they would still have had over 70 other 6G pokemons for future games...
Anyway, it didn't happen and I'm pressed.
