Paige Elliot Performs on Good Morning America
This morning, actress-gone-singer Paige Elliot, appeared on Good Morning America to perform her debut single, "Ready for the Weekend". However, when questions from Robin and Lara that began innocent and fun went onto deeper topics, things resulted in Paige yelling on-camera and storming off the set.
Her segment on the show began with her performance, showing her on a stage set up with a brand new display for a performance: Most of the stage was dark, with a disco ball hanging above, a parked white van with the words "READY FOR THE WEEKEND" painted on the side, and two, large, Chintz Chesterfield sofas alongside the SUV, with Paige nowhere in sight.
The song began, and just as the first verse started, Paige jumped out of the back of the van, wearing black gogo boots, a white skirt and a white camisole with various rips and stains on it. On her left arm, written in Sharpie were various obscenities and squiggles, and part of the skirt was torn, giving the illusion that she had just come from a party... She held a microphone, singing into it, although the microphone was shaped like a beer bottle with no label on it. Once she came out, the stage lit up, and the disco ball began to spin.
She did her usual choreography, never seeming to get tired despite its demanding routine, and up until the second chorus, it was just her on the stage. After the second chorus, several backup dancers came out from the van, also dressed similar to her as if they'd come from a raunchy party.
During the third verse and middle 8, the backup dancers began to dance on and destroy the Chintz Chesterfields, acting like drunken teenagers, ripping them up, writing on them, stomping on them, and so forth.
Paige jumped on top of the van for the final chorus, still dancing, pumping her fist
In between shots of Paige, shots of the the regular Good Morning America cast were seen, either looking happily shocked or dancing in their chairs to the song.
It ended with Paige's hands in the air, sitting on the top of the van, her feet right in front of the windshield. She smirked, and everything died to black.
The Interview: A Marriage Gone Wrong
After the performance, Paige, Robin Roberts and Lara Spencer sat down in the interviewing couches to discuss Paige's life. After the usual questions Paige gets in her interviews ("How are you?" "Have you always wanted to be an actress?" "What does it feel to have the title 'The Reigning Queen of Acting'?", etc.), Robin and Lara simply asked about Paige's marriage, including acknowledging an episode of TMZ that exposed Paige's divorce.
Lara: Paige, now, what's up with you and David?
Robin: Yes! I wanted to know this, too. Is everything going to be alright?
Paige: Uhm, I--
Lara: There was an episode on TMZ that showed David saying... He can't deal with you, or you're too much for him, something like that... Are you two really getting a divorce?
Paige: Well, you know...
Robin: You know, Lara, divorce is a sad thing. If a couple can't make it together after such a commitment as marriage, how are we supposed to have any hope in life?
Lara: Exactly what I'm saying! Marriage is such a big thing, it can't be destroyed so easily. It's such a same.
Paige: David and I just--
Robin: Right! I mean, if two people can make a big move such as marriage, swearing to spend the rest of their lives together, why would it end? It's so sad.
Paige: DUDE, I JUST--
Lara: I mean, it's up to them. It's their life, their relationship. They can do what they'd like, but I think it's just such a shame that people have to get divorced nowadays.
Paige: I swear to God...
Robin: Right. Now, on top of this, Paige, did David really kick you in the chest like he said? Did he hurt you?
Paige: Now, hold on, he j--
Lara: Oh, my God. That reminds me about Rihanna's case with Chris Brown. Is David the new Chris? This is just awful. Paige, aren't you suing him for this?
Paige: I plan on--
Robin: Is it that serious? A lawsuit? I mean, a judge could get involved. This is big. This is sad. Paige, did he break your heart?
Lara: Yes, Paige. Did he hurt you, emotionally and physically? I'm so sorry, dear, this is just awful. You know, Robin, this reminds me of the time tha--
Paige: JESUS CHRIST. STOP.
Lara: Oh, dear.
Paige: CAN I ANSWER SOMETHING NOW?
Robin: Uhm--
Paige: Jesus. I've been married to David just over a year. We got married on my 23rd birthday--
Lara: Oh, how romantic! On your birthday!
Paige: OH, MY GOD.
Robin: You know, Lara, that's always what I wanted to do... Get married on my birthday! It's such a sweet thing.
Paige: ALRIGHT, goodbye.
Paige immediately rose up from her seat and left the building.
