I find it funny that no one jumps on Kelly Clarkson for using the same formula since Breakaway (MD was different but she went back to the same rock/pop stuff)

Avril Lavigne continues the same formula and shows no progress with her singles and albums as a whole since TBDT

Justin Timberlake's last 3 albums have been mostly produced by Timbaland's stale beats

yet the Queen Of The Hot 100 gets all the hate...

Love that video, but I'm pretty much directly quoting Katy. When she said that, she was going through a dark time, but a lot changed (John Mayer, etc.) and she is in a much better place now.
