I'd be here for it.
And lol @ "Capitol wont let her." Capitol Records IS Katy Perry Records. She would have support for any decision she'd make. It will sell anyways, so her label has no reason to object.
Originally, she said Teenage Dream was going to be more acoustic and folky and we know how that turned out. Then it seemed like Prism would be in that vein. Every pop girl has that one album where they alienate their pop fans and flop, but get to release the music they actually want to make. So I think it'll happen
I think it's good too that she made two big pop albums in a row, instead of having that one big era, followed by an alienating era, followed by a so so watered down era manufactured for pop success like some who have come before her.
Lies. Katy won't ditch pop music and all those easy #1 singles. Plus I don't see her getting the same renegotiation with a different genre.
How old is Katy?
She would absolutely still get the same support. The radio and public love her. If she won't smash the pop charts - which no one knows how the landscape will be by the time this type of album would come out, say maybe 2015-16, she'll continue to be the force she is on the Adult Contemporary charts which in turns continues to drive album sales.

Yas at the GaGa shade.
But, do you have a source for her saying folky/acoustic about Teenage Dream? Because as early as April-May 2009 (as "Waking Up in Vegas" was warming up) she said she would keep her sophomore album pop and not want to alienate the fans she gained from the success of "IKaG" and "Hot n Cold". And that pretty much remained throughout 2009 and 2010 until we heard Snoop Dogg was on the first single.

I agree with the bold part. But let's say Katy decides to create an indie/folk/rock album. Do you really think all the fans of those genres will look at Katy Perry the big pop star with colorful hair and take her serious? If she would succeed it would be thanks to her main core, her pop audience and not an indie or whatever genre she want's to sing.
