Kelly Clarkson Has Recorded Both a Country Album and a Pop Album
Kelly Clarkson’s song “Tie It Up,” is currently in the mid-30’s on the country charts, and she says there’s a good possibility it will be on a forthcoming completely country album, which is something she’s never released before. She and her team had considered releasing a self-titled hybrid country/pop album, but she says, “We have recorded so many songs for the country stuff that it’s like, ‘Uhhh … I don’t want to give that up.’ And we’ve recorded so much great pop stuff at the same time, so we’re probably going to end up making two albums just because of the material we have.”
The one thing she has to consider is that she only has one more album owed to her current record label according to her contract. So she says, “If I’m wanting to put two out, we’re kind of figuring that out, but we have two records that we’ve made, so it’s kind of like we’ll figure it out as we go … Well we have three. We have a Christmas one, too. I like to be busy, apparently.”
Kelly’s Christmas album, Wrapped in Red, will be released on October 29th.

Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson show off pop perfection at Dallas concert
Pop stars have the difficult job of trying to differentiate their live performances from radio recordings. When everyone in the nation knows a song by heart, it becomes a task to engage the audience in a unique way as well as satisfy with chart-topping hits.
The overtly popular Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5 successfully jazzed up their sets Sunday night at Gexa Energy Pavilion. By enlisting the help of Grooveline Horns, a three-piece brass section out of Austin, both bands added funk and flair to the concert that are otherwise absent on their albums.
Fans were undoubtedly ecstatic to see local darling Clarkson perform Sunday, and she was equally excited to be home. America’s first Idol was especially candid, initiating conversation with several people in the audience and divulging details about her engagement. (Rest assured, her diamond was distinguishable from the farthest seats on the lawn.)
Before the concert, I caught up with Mickey Madden and James Valentine, bassist ands guitarist for Maroon 5, who spoke highly of North Texas’ pop princess. They said she “opened the doors” for aspiring musicians with her success as a reality television star and paved the way for shows like The Voice, which have “exposed [Maroon 5] to a whole new audience.”
Clarkson may have opened the doors back in 2002, but this weekend she blew the roof of Gexa Energy Pavilion. Her set was 45 minutes of high-energy tunes that mixed old favorites with new flavors. Surprisingly, Clarkson shined brightest during her country songs “Don’t You Wanna Stay” and “Tie It Up,” which showcased her vocal talent alongside her bubbly personality. The horn section reincarnated several of her hits like “Walk Away” and spawned several funky dance parties.
