Omigosh, enough's enough.

Would anyone care about Ke$ha's creative control, or the lack thereof, if Warrior had been a commercial success? This petition is so callow and adolescent. Not to mention presumptuous considering we don't actually know what the woman herself really thinks of the situation. Yes, I do in fact have a sneaking suspicion that Ke$ha is less affected by this than some of the Animals are. I doubt she was naïve enough to expect full creative control after just one studio album. Besides, if Warrior is disingenuous, then mustn't Animal be as well? Why did no one whine about that?
It sucks that she wasn't able to call more of the shots this time around, but I'd imagine there were reasons why certain things didn't go her way (for instance, Machine Gun Love was probably kept from the album because its lyrics don't really make sense and the record's track list already contained two songs that were fairly morbid in theme). The unvarnished truth, though, is that the album does have more to it than its predecessors did, there was more leeway, and she was able to explore sounds that she hadn't been able to dabble in previously. Let's not make believe that there was a gun to her head during the recording of this project, or that all of her pleas for control fell on deaf ears.
So over people denouncing this particular body of work just because it flopped! The Warrior campaign saw a lot of mistakes in terms of single choices and promotion, but turning Dr. Luke into our whipping boy won't accomplish diddly. What's even funnier is that most of the people flocking to this petition absolutely loathed 2012 (You Must Be Upgraded), praised Warrior to the heavens upon its release (while seeing Dirty Love as its weakest link, natch), and probably won't even like Lip$ha.

I firmly believe that some just want a scapegoat; someone to put the blame on for this era's underperformance. Yeah, mistakes were definitely made, and Ke$ha really was wronged a few times, but all of this doom and gloom is so futile, melodramatic, and unnecessary. Nothing will come of it.
