And with all the technique in the world, Beyonce is still a boring singer to me. So what's the excuse for that?
It's called your opinion being emotive or what you think of a nice tone is totally subjective. When people make statements like yours that well xtina has this or that, it's just excuses for her obvious flaws of oversinging and having no control over her voice. However hitting the right notes and staying on tune, is not subjective it's totally objective. No other way around it I love xtina but she's a horrid vocalist who has not improved at all. Beyonce has studied her craft and became a way better vocalist/singer than she was when she debuted in 1997. Beyonce is just the better singer & vocalist all around and there is so much evidence on google to have fun educating yourself with

Thank you i dont understand why some people dont understand subjectivity
Good. Bey can stay doing the most, I ain't even made. Madonna don't even have the high vocals ya'll bragging about yet that don't stop people from calling her the queen of pop...OPPPS.
A very flawed and shallow comment. You mean to tell me rihanna is breaking down barrier for women and the lgbt community in a way that Madonna didn't. Are you telling me that rihanna has many iconic and extremely acclaimed performances, that inspired little girls that followed her to follow her blueprint. You mean to tell me Rihanna's 7th album Unapologetic can even compare to Madonna's 7th album ROL. Madonna did so much and from this comment I can tell you don't know jack squat about her otherwise than her being sexy or being controversial. Doing the most without the receipts in my Whitney voice to back it up.

But when Madonna was rihanna's age she dropped the critically acclaimed classic "Madonna", and has been cited as not only one of the best records of the decade/of all time. When Madonna was rihanna's age out the gate she was already iconic and influential. Hell even the year later she did one of the most remembered performances of all time, that broke down barriers. Shallow comment yet again, no comment on the bolded
It's true, Rihanna is a good singer only she has never learned how to use her voice properly.
Because of her busy scedule she hardly ever has vocal lessons.

And at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. Only you Bey, Kelly, and Stink stans use that technique BS. Honey, the GP could care about a technique. All they care about is if you can sing or not. And, the GP will tell you Xtina can SANNNNNNNNNNNNNG!
Every singer has flaws and does something that some people won't like. I hate that Mariah whistle all the damn time. I hate that Whitney use to talk and stretch out the length of her songs. I hate that Kelly sounds the same in all her songs. Blah blah blah! I too hate the fact Xtina thinks you need a run or shout for every song. But, don't sit up here and try and deny one of the GREATEST singers EVER, just because technique. The majority of you in here claiming to know about singing technique is just repeating things you read on forums.
That's the problem with this newer generation and why no one as of recent has come out to amaze us with a new, unique voice because you so worried about "technique." Where is the "it" factor? That quality that makes us all go, "WOW?!" I don't care if Beyonce has "mastered" her craft because she's still a boring singer to me. She's "mastered" it so much that she left no room to let loose and emote. Xtina, like many legends before her has said, is THE VOICE OF OUR GENERATION. Celine Dion didn't pick her for nothing.

Sis, she can't even scream her own songs anymore. "just technique". It happens to be the most important aspect of singing.
This is not okay and she's always had trouble belting notes higher than b4.
Ella Fitzgerald is rolling over in her grave. That was not jazz, that was not soul, I heard no emoting, that was a travesty.
Celine Dion isn't so great at belting either tbh. She can't mix to save her life.

Well as has been said. It's all preference. I never once have found Beyonce's voice boring. She's able to take it to shrieking madness in Ring the Alarm to soft sadness in Resentment to confident cooing in Kitty Kat all in one album.
You're right though that the GP doesn't care about technique. Which is why this is a thread about vocals listing a vocal expert (not the GP) in the OP. And I think it's pretty valid to deny one of the "GREATEST singers EVER" if she doesn't even have good technique. How can a great singer not have technique? A singer may not have a great voice but has the "it" factor (is likeable, cute, interesting) but that makes a popstar, not a vocalist.

So all this paragrah was a bunch of excuses for your favorite artist right, this must be a joke??? Everyone sites their artist from current stans to older stans about their favorite artist's vocal techniques. As in regards to "it" factor people have a tendency to believe if you are louder than the other you are the better singer which in all cases is not true. As far as saying that technique is not important just further dives home my point that you are using excuses like other stanbases (rihanna & MJB) to cover up your deemed fave's flaws.
Technique is and always will be important because it shows how much in control and knowledgeable you are in your craft. If you don't have good technique in xtina's case your voice deteriorates and worsens.
Also many of the people in here are actually educated on music and even if we read from forums of educated artists. You mean to tell me their OBJECTIVE opinion on a voice is totally wrong. Yet your subjective opinion of singing off key and wailing is some form of being impressive, and having it factor. Please
Like I said again emoting is totally subjective but the technique is not and determines whether or not you are a true vocalist. Since xtina isn't a true vocalist she can't be anywhere near the voice of our generation.
I have so much to say to this horrid comment I don't know if you are joking or not, because you clearly haven't read my comment.

That long ass essay, and you're still missing the point all together. This thread is CLEARLY talking about the artists technique and vocals, and is in no way bashing her voice. Of course the GP would think that Christina can "SANG" but good thing we are not discussing the GP opinion of the singer's voices, but discussing each of the artists' vocal TECHNIQUE. And if you are that pressed that your fave is getting dragged all throughout this thread because of her poor technique, there is a big red "X" on the upper right hand corner of your screen.
Using prerecorded vocals and wind machines does not mean you have great technique, and mastered your craft.
Troll all you want but the proof is in the pudding xtina is a terrible vocalist and has been cited by many true music critics who are educated on vocal range etc.... And obviously beyonce sings live and do you think xtina doesn't use tricks on stage to try and fool the audience chile please

When did I EVER say technique wasn't important? My point is, technique isn't everything that makes a great singer. and, most of you exaggerate Xtina's technique "flaws" and the state of her voice today. It's kind of ridiculous to be honest.
I see a running theme in this thread, and these so called bloggers/experts. It's jealousy that X isn't African American yet she's the voice of our generation, and trumps the other gals. Even though of course Christina Aguilera's a way better singer than Mary J Blige, her, and X hold the same singing technique. There's a reason why ya'll here would rather go after X than MJB since ya'll can't have her.
