It's not really bulkier by THAT much, plus Eelektross has no weaknesses. Eelektross also has a much better movepool (Giga Drain, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt) so I guess that somehow makes up for the lack of attacking stats. Putting Aqua Jet aside, how does it really stand out?
And no, I'm not trying to change this into an Eelektross discussion. I was just wondering why you hate Eelektross yet like Azumarill when they're pretty similar.

But has an Eelektross ever caused you a lot of trouble? The way Azumarill stands out is it's sheer power. Eelektross lacks that as it's outclassed by numerous examples I posted in that category.
They're not that similar at all, which is why one is in NU and the other is in UU. And I've used both in their respective tiers. I dumped Eelektross after like a day because it was so bad for me, and for Azumarill I kept it the whole way until I left that whole team altogether.

I'd hate to bring another Pokemon up (believe me, I do), but I don't really think sheer power alone makes you exceptional. I mean, how about Rampardos?
Azumarill will be pretty much overlooked if it wasn't for Aqua Jet Otherwise he wouldn't be able to outspeed anything and the opponents will be able to take him down.

But to say that a pokemon would be overlooked without their biggest power doesn't validate anything. I could say Ferrothorn would suck if it was Ice and I wouldn't get many disagreements. Azumarill can use Aqua Jet to make people at like 1hp think he'll aqua jet them, instead substitute, and proceed to do lots of damage. All of the pokemon you compare him to are NU for a reason, and Azumarill is UU and even a top tier threat in it.

But the problem with Azumarill is that his biggest power is the only thing that actually makes him stand out. Without Aqua Jet, its just a Water-type Rampardos that's probably gonna get suck in NU as well. Saying Ferrothorn would suck if it was Ice is true, but that's kinda thinking of the worst case scenario. It's not necessarily the same as saying "Azumarill would be overlooked w/o Aqua Jet."

He's far from Rampardos though. He would move up to OU WAY faster than he'd fall all the way down to NU. I mean, just go to his Smogon page and see all the praise he gets. He's a top tier threat really and I agree from first hand experience.

I know, but I'm saying if you take away Aqua Jet (which again, is the only thing that makes him stand out). Other than that, it's just another beastly Pokemon with HUGE attack but very low speed, which WILL get in the way of his sweeping.

But it's not like Aqua Jet is going to disappear, so why are you bringing it up so much? Of course it would ]affect his sweeping capabilities but it won't since it's not just going to disappear. Without Speed Boost Blaziken would never be as good as it is now, but that doesn't mean it's a bad pokemon just because it wouldn't be as good without Speed Boost.

Because it's the only thing that's keeping him from becoming a top-threat tier in UU. Without it, he'll be overlooked. And it's a bit different with Blaziken as well. Blaziken w/o Speed Boost actually did fairly well with a Choice Scarf. He was actually useful with or without Speed Boost. Can't say the same for Azumarill and Aqua Jet. Would he be a bad pokemon w/o Aqua Jet? That arguable, but he certainly will be overlooked.
And that's the point I'm trying to make.

But as I said, who cares? Because it's not going to happen. If that Blaziken example wasn't good enough, how about the fact that Ninetales and Politoed would both be bad too if they didn't have their weather inducing abilities? It's undeniable, but that doesn't make them bad in the least sense.
Instead of focusing on ifs that won't ever happen, it's better to just focus on what is happening and what will continue to happen.

adfhsk let me record these episodes of Sex and the City and come on. I want to make a new NU team but I can't think of what Pokémon I want to base it on.
