But why are the apps such a problem? Twitter and Facebook are on WP, Instagram has a lot of third-party apps to be used. There is Vine in the form of 6-Sec so idgi

Most people complaining about apps know nothing of Windows Phone 8, they're just regurgitating information they've heard elsewhere, lol. Social networking is completely covered.
It lacks banking apps? I wouldn't bank on my phone regardless though, you're asking for trouble. In that case I get it though, some people need that convenience. That's the only major set of apps it's missing. I haven't seen even one (for Canadian banks). I'm missing Mint, but I heard it's coming by the end of the year so ... that's really the only thing I'm missing.
I live on Halo, I don't know if I could switch to a lesser system that doesn't have Halo :P. Pretty sure Windows is going to slowly dominate the app gaming market due to it's Xbox connection.

I agree with this...
I mean WP looks good, has a lot of apps and stuff. His simplicity makes it easy to use for everyone and stuff. Maybe if y'all are games addicts and do not have enough games in the store, that's why you complain. I have Lumia 920 and I have to say that I love it. You should check that there are enough apps for everything that you need.
EDIT: I mean everyone who hates WP not you missy

Yeah I have a white Lumia 920 too, and I love it! I'm super experienced with all four major systems and I just really hate that people just dismiss an entire system because of Windows shady post-Vista reputation. Whenever I show my phone to new people they always kinda get flabbergasted because they didn't realize how well built the phone is and how fluid the ecosystem is. I just hate when they have an opinion when they've invested 0 thought into it - if they've thought it through carefully and still don't like it, it's cool, but don't bandwagon .
Definitely have to check to make sure all your favourite apps are available before switching - that goes for any ecosystem tho . I came from Blackberry so it was just a complete upgrade all around...
We are gonna be kept away from BBM soon! Makes me a bit sad, I liked having a PIN. Probably will take some time to catch on tho, so there is time.

Windows Phone is Flawless. My Lumia 925 is just perfect. The smoothest OS I've ever dealt with. I can't see my self with any other phone, tbh.
2 questions for WP users. (Missy, SMO, e437)
1. What was that Amber update last night? Like what changed?
2. What do y'all use for viewing flash media? I use FlashMovie but it's been flopping as of late. So I need to find a new one to use.

Torn between the Xperia miro and Lumia 710 as a backup. Both are the same price, each has pros and cons.
Which one do you consider.

Well, all devices were eligible for an Upgrade yesterday. Check your system settings--phone update. You should be able to update immediately. And I use MetroTube personally but my YouTube apps have been messing up so I'll try it.

I still have an Xperia T. All my electronics have been Sony recently, but the Lumia 710 has a better battery (they say the miro's is horrible), better camera, better and biggerscreen, better OS (at this price range, WP7 is better than android on budget but never comes near mid-rangers even).

If you can I'd try to get a WP8 device. Saying this because WP7 is no longer supported by Microsoft. I recommend a 520. It's fairly affordable.

@Ares I Will check. I saw that MT has amazing reviews, but MT >>>. It does Not work at Times tho
@Georges. IF you want many apps, the change from Sony Will be hard . IF you like the design and don't need many apps you can get the Lumia imo

I live in lebanon. And the only WP8 Lumias avaliable in my area are the 920 and 820, these are obviously not my budget. But Nokia Lebanon have a twitter, lemme hit them up to ask them where I can but the 520, I might get lucky.

Ah, I see. Well if that's the case go for the 710. I had the 720(exactly like the 710) and I was in love with it.

All my basics are on WP7. 9Tag is not here but I can always use metrogram + instagraph combo. My only concern is with .vcf contacts, since I always backup my contacts via gmail.
EDIT: learned that I can send vcf files to my hotmail account. Fixes everything

the 720 is far more superior in every aspect, but I might try and go deeper to catch a 520

Oh ok. Well you should get WP because I am happier with 920 than the 2 Samsung phones I had. But now keep in mind that everyone Will tell You to buy Xperia because they all think that Android>

I might get a lumia 521.. but have some questions
1. How hard is it to get used to the tiles?
2. what does using a paid app as a demo do??
3. how good is the battery life for only browsing, texting and watching videos (i don't watch much, but only at random times, every once in a while)
Would appreciate answers
