I wasn't saying he SHOULD be an Uzumaki. It's just that many fans thought he was (and it wouldn't surprise anyone seeing how Kishi loves to hype the hell out of Naruto, so being a part of the same clan of the God of shinobi would've been the icing on the cake)

The Rikudo had two sons, an Uchiha and a Senju, those are the two only families descending directly from the Rikudo.
The Uzumakis are blood relatives of the Senjus, the other clans must be descendants of the other fodder humans that were born before the whole chakra fruit happened.
Regarding the Namikaze thing ,wasn't it because Sandaime and co wanted Naruto to have a "normal" life and not be affiliated with a Hokage ?

I think they would have hinted earlier by saying the Uzumakis are related to the Uchias and the Senjus and not only to the Senjus

I love FT. I think it is a great Manga/anime but some on here hate it
I don't hate it (I wouldn't read it on a weekly basis if that was the case), but the story, the character development and the whole "power of love can literally overcome anything" is a mess, let's be real and honest.
I only read it because I want to see some of my favorite characters in action and want to see what kind of a$$ pull Mashima will use

I guess the characters you love are either Erza, Natsu, Grey, Juvia, Lucy or Wendy ? Those literally have 90% of the character screentime.
I mean we all dragged Kishimoto for focusing on just on village, in Fairy Tail its even worse, we only see 5 characters the whole time. Even Happy has shown 10x more feats than most of the member of the guild.
