Joan Marie Laurer made her WWF debut on February 16, 1997 and her role in the promotion was as the laconic enforcer/bodyguard for Triple H and later, his D-Generation X group (which included Sean "X-Pac" Waltman). She was later introduced as "Chyna", a play on words; fine china is delicate and fragile, which was a sharp contrast to her character. Off-screen, however, the male wrestlers were hesitant at first to let a female over-power them.

There were many who followed Chyna and who performed around the same time that she was in action. Jacqueline, Ivory, Molly Holly, Lita, Trish Stratus and Victoria, who are the best of the best when it comes to the Divas.

Chyna was the first female wrestler who truly made an impact and forever changed the role of women in the company. And that's because she was not a piece of eye candy. She was not provocatively dressed or covered in too much makeup, and she didn't throw herself at the male WWF Superstars whenever she was on TV.

Chyna was exactly what the WWF called her. She was the ninth wonder of the world.

In November 2001, Chyna officially left the WWF, and claimed her real-life affair with Triple H was a major factor in her departure. Chyna appeared on Japan Pro Wrestling, and TNA's Impact! in 2011.

Lita was always better. I also thought that Victoria was by far the best female wrestler, a shame she only had the chip twice, the last time back in 2004

You do know that some of the best wrestlers aren't signed to major promotions like WWE & TNA right? To say Trish is the best female wrestler ever is quite absurd considering all the amazing talents in the indy scene aswell as international promotions in countries like Japan & Mexico.

Now if the question is most sucessful in WWE than sure, Trish is the politically correct answer.
Lita has always been my favorite though & she was always more over with the fans than any other female wrestler in WWE history. Had she not suffered those neck & knee injuries she would've been given the royal treatment that WWE gave to Trish.

The best female technician was hands down Molly Holly. I would say the best in ring performer overall is Gail Kim though her best stuff was in TNA not WWE. Mic skills goes to Trish for sure but Queen AJ Lee will pass her when her career is all said & done

Yes sis! If AJ Lee keeps going on this current path she's on she's gonna retire as one of the best divas of all time. The legendary Jim Ross himself even thinks so.

AJ's promos this year have been top notch stuff. Some of the best mic work by a diva since the days of Trish.
