I don't find any of those tracks to be Toxic/The Great Escape(SNSD) perfection, however, she has time and time again proved she can write great pop records which aren't basic so why can't she do it again without pumping it full of indulgent art references? She did call her album ARTPOP and yes, she is obviously doing the "art" bit right, (applause video etc) but the pop bit is nowhere near as good as it could be. Regardless, Applause is great and a bit more pop would have made it 100% for me instead of a low 90.
