Because every big music star tries to be a movie star at some point. You know it was inevitable, especially for someone as ambitious as Taylor. Excelling at one thing is not enough; they want to excel at ALL THE THINGS!
Besides just ego, I suppose the cycle of writing-recording-album-tour may have gotten boring for her (it will be her 5th go-round) and she fancies a change. Or she could just honestly enjoy acting.
I don't think LP5 will be necessarily rushed, though. From what I've heard, actors have a lot of downtime. And she doesn't
have to release in 2014 Q4 .
