In my mind, there's a plexiglass wall separating you from the rest of the world. You want to break the glass wall, to join the rest of the world, but you don't know how. So you sit there, forced to observe the outside world through the plexiglass, hoping that one day, the wall will simply disappear.

Yes,for the most part. Someone with high functioning autism might act just about 99% allistic("normal"). Someone with low functioning autism might act anywhere from 35-70% allistic. It more or less depends on the person. But our actions and thoughts are a bit different. We're less empathetic, therefore making a lot of us more analytical. And our actions can be more centered around a special interest, or trying not to be in uncomfortable social situations(just about all social situations are killer for me).

Those with aspergers syndrome autism do. It's a high functioning level, basically you look and act like any other person, you just have autistic quirks added like social and learning impairment. People who associate the "mental retardation" and "stupidity" with autism are referring to severely autistic people who aren't able to communicate like most people and seem like they're braindead (to anyone more well versed on the subject I tried describing it the best I could? This is just how I've been able to register and differentiate)
