Pop/dance is the current environment. People for some reason got this notion in their head that electro is fading just because Adele hit it big with 21 and Lana Del Rey is popular but if you haven't noticed the only way Lana could even get a top 20 hit is with a tricked out edm remix. Almost every popular song on the radio right now is electro based.

ARTPOP is amazing. Sex Dreams is amazing as well, but I feel like it lacks something. Swine and Aura had terribly sung (and I mean terrible in Aura's case) verses,but really good choruses. We all know that Aura's second verse slays though. I won't even mention that dumb ballad. Jewels and Drugs is cool ,but it sounds dated. It would have smashed if it was released 2004-2006. . I would also like to mention once again that the ARTPOP track is AMAZING.
same here. ARTPOP is amazing. It is insanely catchy even though it is mid tempo. I hope the studio version is more uptempo or at least more pop.
Sex dream is okay but nothing special, maybe because the production.
But IWBWY is a pretty good ballad. If it turns out to be speechless of aRTPOP it would slay hard !!!
If the GP judged Applause lyrics. "Imma have a manicure, you can have a manicure, I want a manicure" or whatever that songs not-memorable lyrics are would not go very far.

If I had to choose one TO be the second I'd choose Sex Dreams or MANiCURE I guess?
I'd choose Aura, but the lackluster response of Applause might make radio ignore something so... different (unfortunately).
NONE of the other songs can be a single though. I bet one will though , and then the entire era will be in the hands of the third single (like B'day was with Irreplaceable).

Appluse didn't smash partly because its Gagas name and partly because its lyrically awkward in its verses.
Gagas coming off of a nearly 2 year hiatus after a middling era that although performed more than decently signified a change in her popularity. She has a lot of naysayers and she has to chip away at the wall that was built. You say "that could be even worse" but its really not that bad. Shes already redeeming herself with Applause and with this era in general if you look beyond the mostly limited minds of stans on ATRL.
If she wants a successful second single, MANiCURE is the safest choice.
If she's only "here for the music" and doesn't give a **** about charts, I wouldn't mind Sex Dreams or Swine.
I wanna watch the whole thing but I refuse to having to deal with anything that isn't HD I saw a bit and it looked amazing
