Pink may have produced some of the catchiest pop jams of the noughties but it turns out the singer isn’t that into pop music herself, revealing to MTV’s Molly Meldrum this week that there are two much more alternative musicians that have captured her attention lately – Matt Corby and Lorde!
Molly sat down for an exclusive interview with the singer during a break from her ‘Truth About Love Tour’ in Melbourne, and asked her what she personally thinks of the music that’s taking over the charts at the moment.
“I like some of it. I like a lot of it. I like a lot of weird stuff.
Pop music…. Not so much,” she shared.
So if Pink isn't into pop music, what is she into?
“I like this Corby guy. Matt Corby. God that voice!” gushed the 33-year-old about the talented Aussie.
“See I’ll hear something random and it’s the voice and like the soul behind it and I don’t care what genre it is and I’m just taken away,” she continued, before name-dropping Kiwi songbird of the moment, Lorde.
“I like Lorde – that song ‘Royals’ and the ‘Love Club.’ I love City and Colour. I’m just stuck on City and Colour’s new record. Just on repeat. And then I listen to a lot of weird meditation music. I’ll go into a spa for a massage and they’ll like turn on ‘80s pop music and I’m like, ‘Nooo … put back on the flute!’”
