Eh. If one of them wants a significant global career as a solo artist there would be significant advantages to living/working in the US. The "British" spin works much better for groups than for solo artists imo.

I agree with the first sentence, but more and more solo British artists are cracking America or are about to crack America. It's good to have a successful career in your homeland before you want to be big.
Examples: Ed, Ellie, Adele, Olly, Emeli, Jessie J.

Well, not every British artist is like Adele . Jessie J is quite big, bigger than Olly and Emeli (who will never happen in US in a big scale). Ellie Goulding is doing really good. I'm waiting for Rita Ora to be the last one to crack US for now.

I predict her being huge, since she's managed by Roc Nation.

If they want to have a solo career, it's better that they take advantage and start laying the groundwork by proving their material is worth listening to. Particularly the albums need to step up in material (sort of like Girls Aloud) that gives people a reason to support the boys in their future endeavors.

US is the biggest market out there for music.
