It's gotten to the point with these new members where I've got a few bookmarked so I can go back and report them later after my previous report gets cleared.
I've been out of the loop for the past few days; Why was SYG closed?
When the server was fixed and registration opened, SYG became ten times as active. People were also trying harder to stand out, so they were being as offensive as possible. We realized that SYG could no longer exist in its current form. We've kind of outgrown the possibility of having an unmoderated space. The admins have also expressed their concern about the thread.
Katie and Lee hate each other. I remember seeing Lee saying that he couldn't stand being in the same thread as Katie.
If this is actually true, I could see where conflict arises as they seem to have very different personalities and moderating styles, but I hope it's not - I like them both, it's sad to think two of the most prominent staff members don't get along.

Yes, we are talking about closing SYG permanently. It has just gotten to be too much.

So where do we stand now? Will there be no more SYG or do you still plan to revise the policy to make it more strict?

I understand the sentiments of some members who believe that those who "can't take the heat should stay out of the kitchen", so to speak, but some common topics in SYG like suicide jokes aren't really acceptable anywhere. If it returns, it should be regulated a lot more strictly.
There are so many easy ways to handle SYG but no one would listen to me. I mean just make it a hidden thread (if that's possible) andwe won't have to worry about profanities or going too far because of the ads.

That could be a potential solution to the admins' concerns, I suppose, but that would in effect be almost the same thing as Blogs, no?
I think it would be nice to have SYG only be accessible to people with a certain number of posts, it'll help in weeding out the undesirables (newbies, trolls, etc).
? Might as well close it for good.
