Yes promo would help. Specifically a country radio tour... were she visits several country stations and sings for them. Sheryl Crow did that, and it helped her song go top 20. But she doesn't have time for that right now.

Country is really more about the labels pushing it (money and favors). Some fans think the lack of females is because the PDs are playing favorites with the guys, since they hangout in real life. I mean how many damn songs can you hear in a row about trucks, dirt roads, girls, and tractors? lol

I think when the country program directors start to get to know Kelly a little better, they'll fall in love with her like everyone does. But right now they don't know her well enough to favor her. Also, she still needs to earn her stripes with them. Releasing more country singles (despite success or not), talking to country stations, performing at country events, her friendships with other country folks... it'll all add up and I can totally see Kelly being awarded solo country awards in the future.

Country is seen as a "family" and like every family.... you have favorites haha
It's hard to break in, just like every genre. However, once you do, you earn the respect.

Narvel started managing Reba when her career was taking off and he helped her become the Queen of Country! Same thing with Blake.... Narvel and Brandon co-manage Blake, it took a few years to get to where he is now.

I think if Kelly continues to release country singles, the country industry will see that she releases them because she really does love it.

I still have to laugh though when I see people on twitter criticizing her for singing other genres. We're talking about someone who had to sing a different genre every single week on live television before she ever had a record deal. It's funny.

Well she her latest two pop singles were EDM so not very far from that, but I am not here for that. I want more pop/rock Kelly. I mean CMB and PLU were pop/rock and EDM imo. I know that sounds weird but that's just the way it is.
