I'm not dragging "CG"'s debut; I'm simply saying that if Gaga can be dragged for debuting with nearly 450K with "BTW" but only 218K with "Applause", then Katy can be dragged for starting with 294K and then 84K with her next single only 2 months later.

Also, "TD" did not debut following its Friday release, just as "CG" didn't. "TD" debuted at #20 with 84K after a full week of sales.

Ariana only sold 1K more than Gaga, if not less than that when you take into consideration the rounding, and she had more exposure seeing as she had the #1 song on iTunes for most of its first week.

The position is totally right for the actual song, in fact its extremely good for the song because Applause is poor for GaGa. Its no where near the levels set by BR, PF, JD.

For GaGa herself, a star as big as she was the position is extremely poor. The idea of GaGa being beaten in a chart battle by Katy a few years ago was beyond laughable. She was one of the biggest forces in a pop a few years ago, but it would appear that the BTW era was very damaging to that reputation and a weak first single has done nothing to subside it.

Katy on the other hand had a very strong and consistent era with TD and she's managed to follow it up with a song that has matched that level. Rather than a high peak early on in her career and a swift decline, Katy has steadily built on her success.

Right now I would say that Katy is the stronger force in pop.

That people are to busy f**king dragging her to enjoy the song. Let's face it, the song is doing extraordinary well for ANY artists song, it's just that she's under-preforming to her standards. I find the first two choices pretty apt.

The same girls coming for Gaga are the same ex-fans who stopped enjoying her because "of her little monsters." How hilarious is it that they're so bothered by some abstracted fan base is perceived that they're not only unable to enjoy the artist's work, but they must now look for weak excuses to actively attack that artist for the sake of "putting those annoying fans in their place."

She hyped her song a lot, even if she always claimed it was going to be a EDM influenced pop song, "Applause" is not good enough to be a Gaga's song. Monsters has put Gaga on a pedestal, thinking they made everyone else think Gaga is as successful as they think she is. We saw her past three debuts, even if Bad Romance didn't hit #1, it became huge. So it is only being dragged because it's Gaga, if it were Katy or Rihanna, this wouldn't be happening.
