It's really beautiful this song. First of all Diane Warren wrote it and she's probably my most favourite non singer-songwriter. It's either her or Kara DioGuardi even though Kara does sing sometimes and provides backing vocals. Also former keyboardist of Evanescence; David Hodges produced it. A favourite producer of mine. Ben Moody and David Hodges are quite the production team and I reckon this track would have been made even better if Ben was apart of it.
Vocally, this song soars. Demi's vocals are the best thing about it, if not for the lyrics and production. Demi's remarkable and rare ability to emote and personalize songs of which she never had any involvement in lyrically is really showcased in this song. I believe this song was specifically written for the movie. Am I right? Yes, well she definetly was the right choice to record this song. I wish it was a single, by God I wish it was, but it looks like that isn't gonna happen. Such a shame! But I'll make do with hearing it in a very important and prominent scene in the movie. Least she'll get recognition for her vocals in it.

That explains why the first thing I though about is Evanescence when I heard the snippet!
I picked up Evanescence straight away. It never crossed my mind that one of the former members would have produced it. Funnily enough the song it reminded me of David wasn't apart of. He had already left the band. I immediately thought of "Lost In Paradise" when I heard the snippet.

The soundtrack is expected to sell 14k-16k so Heart by Heart actually did pretty well lol
