As you can see, they base everything on the charts! Most of the hive was okay but a lot of people wanted to tear Bey down because she had been at the very top of the charts for so long.

I'm glad the hive was okay and staying intact. Charts tell what other people like but you tell what you like and I think a lot of people don't realize that. Or maybe they just like being obnoxious (which is a big possibility)
RTW still left a pretty big impact

RTW certainly did. For a "non-hit" there are a lot of people who can recognize it. It might not have been bought by the public but it was memorable. Who Run The World? is always followed with GIRLS! It's a thing.
Personally at the time the failure of RTW kind of bothered me (because I was used to smashes) but it was soon after that I realized that the reason I love Beyonce has nothing to do with whether or not the public likes her too. That is actually the last criteria on my list of things to stan for. We're all lucky that our preferences in music and performers has led us to an artist who is genuinely talented. We stan for the best, and that is all that matters. Personally I'd be more concerned about whether her latest performance was good rather than where her single was charting. It's pretty hilarious to see how people overreact about a "flop" single or an airplay update but then shrug off an awful performance when as a performer, performance should really be their #1 priority.

Bey's commercial success has only ever been important to me because I feel she deserves it, it has nothing to do with me personally. She works SO hard and has such amazing talent and artistry, those are the things that SHOULD be rewarded.
To me, '4' was her best work yet, the music is timeless.
I'm not going to lie, I was really upset with the way RTW worked out because of the way it leaked and the way it was handled but I wouldn't change that era for anything. It has been my favorite so far!

Do y'all think it's possible for Bey to deliver a legendary era this time around where she solidifies her legend status, do you think this era will be a decline, or will it be some where in the middle?

She has already solidified her legend status, it doesn't matter if she never has a #1 hit again.
Of course it's possible though and more than likely her next era will be big, her celebrity is bigger than it has EVER been.

It definitely will be bigger than 4. There is SO much interest in her. I don't think leading up to 4, if she cut her hair, she would get nearly the amount of press. She's really become larger than life I think. She's BEYONCE. Motherhood propelled her into a whole new stratosphere. She is now both more human and more godlike at once.
Maybe because I'm a Beyonce fan I notice it more, but I don't see other popstars being called the Queen, etc. by the general media. There are so many buzzfeed lists about how great she is, people may not like her but they recognize her place. Like you said she's a legend now.

I just think it's so funny how others try to discredit her and make it seem as if she's flopped into oblivion. Everyone's biggest fear is if Beyonce slays this era, they're gonna look like fools
I'm really hoping for a mega-era though
Though I generally don't care about her success, Beyonce deserves way more success than she has. Lol, I sound spolied don't I?

She had helicopters following her over a haircut, that's when I realized how huge she really is now..
I really expect an era like we have never seen before, maybe not more commercially successful than IA...SF or DIL but it will probably be her most critically acclaimed and it will no doubt sweep the award shows, I expect another huge Grammy night.

Since she is taking her time with this album I think it will be a better and more cohesive era than 4 and a step up. I don't know if she would have huge crossover smash hits, but I have a feeling she will deliver. The ones you count out surprise you and we have seen that plenty of times

Don't even worry Beyonce breaks records like every week from best selling celeb perfume franchise, most tweeted moment etc..... Some of thehe girls can hold on to the only thing they CAN dominate which is the singles chart

She does have a lot of success, though, more so than all of her peers. Her success is a different type, she is one of richest entertainers, she has a HUGE brand and her empire is growing larger and larger every day. Look at her tour, she's going to gross more than expected, every tour she grosses more and more and this past tour goes to show it isn't based on her #1 hit, it's based on her talent and celebrity. Imagine her grosses in 15 years from now, we're talking about hundreds of millions of dollars.
She may not have had a #1 Hot 100 single this past era but she sure did outsell most of her peers, she accomplished more than almost all of them. She is the bar.
#1 hits don't measure success, sadly, that's the consensus on ATRL though. It doesn't matter how much your tour grossed, how many albums you sold, the amount of money you grossed, what matters is if you had a #1 single which garners only pennies for the artist and is typically more memorable than the artist themselves.

This whole thing with stans jumping ship simply b/c their fave hasn't hit #1 on itunes makes me sick. People are letting the Hot 100 and itunes charts influence their opinions so much, I'm at the point now that I'll listen to and buy and stan for whatever I like, having a number one single doesn't mean much to me anymore. Atrl can try and downplay Bey's success b/c she hasn't had a top 10 hit or w/e in a while but I love that her success expands beyond that because I think it's easier to get a top 10 hit than it is to have multiple successful albums, tours, perfumes, clothing lines etc.

I think we were fine seeing as RTW had more impact than those other pop girls first singles in 2011
We won in the end. Ki!

The Beyhive didn't turn on Bey or drag her... They dragged everybody else. LOL. The worst that happened was that a lot of stans became inactive. But none of this 180 **** that's going on with Gaga's fans.
