I just thought to myself Katy is getting #1 exposure and Gaga is sitting right below her waiting to be bought. Those people taking their time to buy Katy's single are not buying Gaga's. I know when I go on iTunes and I see the top 10 I look at every song before I start purchasing. It shows the interest is currently not there or people don't like the song.
Maybe her music video or VMA performance will help.
The Born This Way era did way more damage to her public image than I had ever assumed. She is still huge but opinions are completely polarized. In the pop world, you're as good as your last era.
I really love both songs. They both really delivered amazing first singles. Applause *might* be my favorite Gaga song & Roar is up there with Teenage Dream as Katy's best song. Might become my favorite in the future.
The girls slaying. I wish Gaga had waited until next week but w/e.
And people called "dissapointment" to Roar. It's a wonderful hit. Pretty simple production imo, but it's very addictive. She's back to continue slaying

What are you predictions for both artists first week sales?
Taylor had country & pop fans support that's why it debuted so huge. I still believe she'll do 550-600k.
People keep underestimating Katy, but she keeps getting bigger and bigger with each album. I hope she continues breaking records and I have no doubt she will.
