Katy's going to start posting negative/red updates now because of the rolling effect, and the higher version of "Applause" will benefit from top ten exposure and the banner. She should do fine.

I doubt it. Gaga's sales are a lot more front-loaded than Katy's, plus Applause isn't a sack of **** with extremely high burn rate like BTW, so it has that going for it. She's going to outsell Katy this week. It's going to be remain to be seen how they will stand in the long-run (Katy's airplay is going to give her more constant and extended exposure) but right now I'm on Team Applause for this one.
