Do you know a song that killed some artist's musical career?
For example:
"Outta My Head". That song didn't kill Ashlee's career at all, but it was a bad single choice and with no promo... the album was a total flop. 50% responsible for the end of Ashlee's musical career (although she hasn't tried to make a proper comeback yet).
Another example I think...
"This Kiss" by Carly Rae. Bad single choice and after that nothing went well
Not the single it's self, but Dixie Chicks performed that single and said they hated that Bush was president and it was #11 and fell directly off the charts after 2 weeks and ruined their chances of becoming bigger from that speech.
"Loverboy" also almost ruined Mariah's career, and Glitter the Soundtrack/Movie made it even worse.

Travelin' Soldier was actually #1 on the country airplay chart and then completely disappeared the following week. But yes, that incident killed their careers, even the Grammy sweep didn't help.
In my opinion, "Stupid Hoe". Not because of its immediate impact on the success of her PF:RR era, but because of its long term more devastating effects that it had on the general public's perception of her.
