No one except her stans see her as a popstar. Her stans (which are mostly bandwagoners) constantly claim her to be a popstar because it'll be easier to drag an artist which they hate/do not like (which is exaclty what you're doing in here).

I'm only saying you can't just assume a person is able to do something they have never done before.
Until we have actual receipts and numbers other than predictions and assumptions, she's not a big touring act because she has never toured before.
And again, I'm waiting for her next era to prove that, and to prove whether she can maintain the success she had with 21 or not.

Adele isn't really a pop star. That doesn't make her more or less successful. She just isn't a pop act. Even if Adele were a pop star, I wouldn't call her the biggest star of our generation based on one album.

I'd like to see how ARTPOP goes too before giving Gaga the same title.

It's funny how the Adele stans come running into Gaga threads to make it about Adele. She is not a pop star. And even if she was-- she has one massively successful album, yes, but there's no proof she won't go the way of Norah Jones or Alanis. Except Adele would be lucky to have even half the talent, creativity, and quality of music that Norah has

This thread was clearly asking about actual POP STARS, and Gaga's main competition is Rihanna. Her maintained relevancy since 2005 is pretty impressive, but I'm not sure if she would be able to do it without yearly releases and toooons of singles. It's hard to compare someone with 2/3 albums and a handful of singles to someone with 7 albums and dozens of singles (plenty of which either have Just Dance success, or MTN floppage).

Overall I'd say Rihanna has (some) better numbers, but as a result of being in the game for way longer. Personally I think she would have an absolutely huge GGGB-style era again if she took a few years off, and then released a great album that people would be dying to hear. That might really win her the title of "current queen" or whatever you like to call it

Assuming ARTPOP doesn't flop, then it would seem Gaga is the most successful current pop star.

Have you EVER seen me denying her success? I am a fan of Adele and denying her success would be extremely stupid. That "facts" that YOU (like you said, some ATRL user) gave WILL never prove anything and will NEVER prove that Adele is a successful POPSTAR.

Gaga tries too hard to be innovative and at the end her music turns out to be neither innovative nor good. That's what I meant when I said she tries hard. And you should never even talk about not relying on gimmicks and controversy when you stan for Gaga. Gaga is in no way more creative and artistic than Taylor. Taylor just isn't as pretentious and nonsensical about it. And excuse me, when RS, Forbes, etc. called Gaga the Queen of Pop, this was THEIR OPINIONS. This is art and artistic titles cannot be factualized. Deal with it.
