Chasing is so beautiful and pulsating - the strings, drum beat. It's so rich and the lyrics are blissful. Definitely the stand out on the album. Wish she did more with Mark Endert
Good. I've been a fan for a few years now, but only after Kaleidoscope Heart was released so I had no idea.

Endert's work is supposed to be target single material. I like John O'Mahony too though.
Haven't made it fully through the album yet but with the exception of Brave (which to be fair is just a simple basic bop and not too terrible) everything else has been fantastic.
Chasing the Sun even though it probably wouldn't chart well sits up there with things like Between The Lines, Bottle it Up etc. It's so good.
This doesn't seem to be anything like her slightly Baroque pop EP but she does what she has been doing for years amazingly.
Sara Bareiless regardless of charts is probably the overall most talented female pop singer songwriter since the mid 2000s.

I love the lyrics, but I was a little bored by the album
There just seemed to be so many ballads I did love Chasing the Sun, Little Black Dress, and Cassiopeia.

Have you ever listened to a Sara Bareilles album before?

I find the ballads on her previous albums a bit formulaic and none of them stand out to me, but every single ballad on this album is unique and top-notch. That's mainly why I'm so excited about this album.

I love her lyrics. I mean, her songwriting abilities can't be touched. But the whole album I was hoping for more upbeat kind of songs a la King of Anything. I was kinda disappointed, but I'll give the album another listen since it was solid songwriting, and the ballads weren't bad, just plentiful.

the album keeps getting better to my ears. I enjoyed it upon first listen, but now songs that didn't woo me are becoming ear worms. but Manhattan is prob my least fav. everything else is enjoyable on different levels - Chasing The Sun, Eden, December, I Choose You, Satellite Call are prob the best.
