I saw "Zimmerman Not Guilty", the amount of posts and the fact that it was locked and knew it would be a MESS in there. Part of me wants to go through it just to see how low ATRL can go.

Atrl can't and will never have an educated discussion because its hard for people to know the difference between the things you do in SYG and in serious topics. Also, it includes being educated. Do you honestly think many people here even successfully completed a course that requires critical thinking and/or knowledge of social issues?

Maybe we can have a thread devoted to social/political topics. It could be like SYG where the discussion is solely based around whatever specific issue people want to talk about and things like personal insults would get warned. I don't know, just a thought.

There's a big difference between arguing about petty celebrity **** and political issues. It gets personal quickly.

Aren't most people here in their early 20s though? And I would imagine they'd mostly be enrolled in Arts courses too.

I'd say the majority is late teens - 17 through 19.

We (being 17 myself) can be just as logical and intelligent as the next person, though. I usually find myself capable of looking at social situations without needing to ridicule or attack those with opposing views.

I think it's more like 35% that age and 65% mostly 14-19.
