So I'm listening to my favorite songs from The Blueprint 3, and I take back everything I said abuot me liking it.
The last time I listened to the album, I was 12.
The production is still IMMACULATE, but lyrics are so subpar. Like on "Venus vs. Mars", I don't think he was even trying. He threw down every pair of opposites he could think of and acted like it was clever. The Rocky allusion.
It must be among his worst. It's not touching his debut. I'm so sorry.
I never been able to get through a full Jay Z project.
I don't know what it is about him, but he's just so average. He cannot produce, his lyricism is poor and doesn't inspire me whatsoever. The only reason he's regarded as a "legend" is his ability to adapt to change and exploit dumbass negros.
There's a reason most of Jay's best songs are featuring other people . I've always thought he's never been able to hold his own weight and even gets overshadowed by other people on his collaborative efforts. In his defense though, his older work was much more decent. He should've retired when he said now he's clinging to his marriage, 'Ye, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Linkin' Park, Alicia Keys, etc to stay afloat.

I was just playing with you and TooMuchSaid in that Mimi vs Riri thread, Mimi obvs has a bigger legacy but the way you felt the need to bring up receipts about discounted songs and such made me die.
I'm surprised you didn't catch on when I pointed out she won Artist of the decade at the BMAs (Barbados music awards) tho.

-Her grammy performance last time was not "iconic" but it ws very good and critically acclaimed.
I'm sorry, but how do you Rihanna fans think her vocals are literally ALL THAT?
I think it's just y'all watch her performances so much, the minute she does something she normally doesn't, y'all think it's amazing. When in reality? It's just moving onto average.
Doing OK Vocals throughout a whole performance, without a bad note once still makes it a BASIC performance not good.
