You know better Connie that's a double edged sword. But anyways even if she doesn't it's not like she can't release without a major platform. It's not necessary and it's not even required. We'll see though, I'd love for her to make an epic comeback at the VMA's and that's all.

When Lady Gaga finishes her next album, Artpop, you won’t have to head to Target — or the iTunes music store — to buy it: You’ll also be able to download it as a standalone app, from the iTunes App Store.
Pretty cool, right? We’ll see — the app was supposed to be out around now, but Gaga has been sidelined by hip surgery. But Troy Carter, Gaga’s manager, stresses that people who don’t want to consume Gaga as an app won’t have to: He’s very happy to sell music the old-fashioned way, as an iTunes download, and even on a physical CD.
Why? Because that’s where the market is, he reminded Kara Swisher at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference. A good reminder: When Justin Timberlake sold close to one million copies of his new album in a week, the bulk of those were CDs, sold via Target and Walmart, Carter said.
“You can’t shock the water in our business. It’s about gradual change,” he said. “You still have to cater to the market that’s out there.”
So when does that change? Soon, but not very soon, Carter predicts. He figures his market goes mostly mobile in three to five years.

Troy and Gaga are definitely AWARE of the industry. Not to mention that it seems like the APP is already finished and they're just waiting to release something. We need to just be patient.

Although Bjork did do it first. Her app isn't a platform that other artist can use which is what i'm gathering that this app is. It takes it a step further. And a lot of the people in here seem to think that Gaga's team is just blind to everything, so that's why I posted it.

And loool! That's fine, she may not get it back but Gagita was the Twitter queen and she held her crown for long enough.

I bet Billboard changes the rules, not allowing the app to count, either right after or right before ARTPOP

It is June 2013. Gaga's last memorable song was released in May 2011. Most (if not all) of her accolades have been snatched. She's completely irrelevant right now, but it is perfect for her I believe. Stefani was so overexposed and now she seems to be having that vacation she talked about in her legendary Skype performance.

I'm still excited for ARTPOP. I just hope we hear the single by August 27th, otherwise I don't think many of her fans can hold onto her much longer

There is no rule that says anything about app sales accounting on the Billboard 200. It doesn't exist What they could do though is have a version on itunes that comes WITH the album. And one that's just standalone.
