If you're just blindingly following hits, you'll barely make any progress in really standing out. That's the difference between Gaga and the rest of the pop artist. Sure it may get you a number 1, but you end up missing on AOTY chances, higher scores on metacritic, and you'll never be a trend setter. Maybe we're wrong and the music isn't the type of EDM we think it is, and maybe the urban influences are there for a reason. I think it's cool that she picked Kendrick and Azealia before the urban music stuff even came back in. You never know.
