I don't mind the song. However, I think the problem, as with a lot of BTW, is she had to turn every ballad into an upbeat dance song and she had too much going on in every song. Americano is a really nice ballad as she performed it at the monster ball. It didn't have to be a piano ballad but I think it shouldve been a more midtempo song with more latin flavor cutting out the wailing and lalalalas. Also a problem is her trying to do too much in one song. For example Hair didn't really need that 2nd verse changeup or the electro hair stuttering section. She shouldve stuck with it being a campy gay 80s disco pop song, you can barely even hear Clarence playing the sax over the beat and on bad speakers it sounds really jumbled. Another example is Judas, the verses and chorus are as if they're from two different songs. The verses were hard, industrial with a spoken reggea dialect and then went into a super sweet pop chorus. Same thing happened with bad kids. Her best songs have always been more simple and less convoluted. The fan favorites/best charting singles were all simpler (Btw, TEOG, Scheisse, GH, BM and HML). She didn't try to force them to be a pop song with a piano playing, disco beat, screeching guitars, eurodance breakdown and sax solo all in one song like Hair.
She should also lay off the wailing for ARTPOP. A lot of people hated it in Judas and Americano.
