So my mom just told me that my grandma was present at a sermon by Katy Perry's parents. Apparently they're going around to random churches and talking about their "devil child". Next time I see my grandma, I'm gonna ask her about it. Because I think that my grandma is on their side… I would've done a LOT to go hear them though and talk with them afterwards to see what the **** they're thinking.
^ Unless Katy's parent's suddenly changed their words or stories, they say basically the same thing at every church sermon. I've watched several randomly over the last year and a half thanks to many churches live streaming/videoing their services. They joke around and play on words (literally the exact same jokes, lol), but they have never intentionally demeaned their daughter to the degree some people think. They have to have a spirit of faith, acceptance and understanding... it's all in God's hands. I already know what was said is twisted, out of context, ect. Just as it happens for Katy. Katy knows where her parent's stand. Her parent's know where she stands. It's actually A LOT better than most WANT to think, lol.
I've seen Katy's parents preach and met them after their service not long ago and they say nothing about this "devil child" BS that has been circling the media. Trust me, they are extremely supportive of Katy. I know they're perceived as these crazy, overly-strict, uptight ministers but they really aren't. They're a lot more open minded than they seem and people honestly just have the wrong idea of them, unfortunately. They're really good people.
