I think that's why so much of the era came out so messy, she was so busy constantly doing promo or preparing for promo and then she decides to direct most of the videos herself on top of all that

The goal was to promote the album, not the individual singles. This is why most of her performances were medleys instead of single song performances. It worked.

I also hope she doesn't do appear on EVERY tv show like in the BTW era. For someone as big as Gaga, if the song is catchy and hitworthy it will smash regardless of live performances. I'd prefer a few big performances over a thousand smaller performances any day. It makes it more special whenever she DOES perform. And honestly she's too big for things these breakfast morning shows

This is such a dumb thing to say.

Gaga loves performing and working her ass off for any and every bit of success she has. You're never too big to promote your own material.

I wonder how she, and Interscope, felt seeing Judas and MTN flopping despite being performed everywhere

I'm sure they were happy with the millions of albums they pushed.

That wig was all her idea. Grace Coddington mentions in an interview that Gaga said something about wanting to pay tribute to Anna. I say this over and over again but that hair is not proportionate to the rest of her features. I get she doesn't care if she looks 'ugly' but come on.
The shoot itself and the clothing are not bad, it's just the wig and make up that make her look terrible. I mean, why would she think she could wear a massive McQueen gown with her head looking like a tiny balloon?
I can't complain too much though, the issue was the second best selling of the year. Only Gaga.

Anna Wintour disagrees. Being fearless and pushing boundaries is why she is such a massive magazine seller. People want uniqueness on covers, not the same ol' "pretty girl".

Ugh, just watched Inside the Outside for the 40th time and it never gets old. But then I get annoyed when I look at her face and that clown make-up and wig. That special could have been so much more beautiful had she looked presentable.
I swear that creepy gaga era was the toughest to deal with as a fan. What was she thinking?

I don't get how what she looked like takes away from the special and/or would make it better. Are you that superficial?

I mean, the idea was good and they looked cute on that Bazaar photoshoot but in all the other occasions otherwise not. Then she went with that hooker theme that was plain awful (except a couple of occasions) with that horrible creepy make-up and wigs. Even the teal wig looked cheap and unfitting most of the time. i loved she used Versace but not the way she used it then. Later with YAI and MTN eras she started to get definitely better in looks but it was too late and the BTW era was done.

Yeah, no. Gaga looked amazing most of the time. You guys like to exaggerate the few bad looks you don't like to make it seem like the entire era was bad fashion wise.
Damn, I sound like a bitch. Sorry.

It's just strange how many fans completely miss the point of BTW despite how many times Gaga has explained it. It's not always about being pretty or being number one, it's about making a statement. That's how you're remembered.
