I would be inclined to say that AI is dead if it weren't for PP's pretty substantial success. IIRC, Home wasn't an immediate success after Idol. What the show has to realize (and what Interscope is dealing with) is that the show alone isn't going to create a demand enough for the music from the artist. They need to be strategic, i.e. getting the song on the Olympics and stuff.

American Idol needs to completely change the rules/process. The formula got really old after 12 seasons. Also there is no tension in the verdict episodes, the show is dead, there are no emotions or only fake emotions from the contestants.

the reason why Phillip didnt burn out is simple: the music is good. Home iis a dope track. Thats it. nothing more. All the promo in the world isnt gonna help if the music is ****, and those AI winners' tracks are some hot gawbage.

ironically, the cast this year has the most personality, there's no fake in Angie's elimination or Burnell/Devin shading Lazaro on stage
what the show lacking is a WGWG, they need to realize that their core-fans don't want these girls, they want those cute white guys. And iF you take that away from them, you're done.

Most of those WGWG go on to be bigger flops than the girls, though. There's no surprise that the biggest AI alumni are females.

PP didn't even like it at first. He grown to like it though. Same with me. Didn't really get the hype of the song but I ended up loving the song, and his album is solid.
